RELATE Lab brings together healthcare workers, trainees, patients, and community members to develop relational leaders, foster community, and build the evidence to co-create a more humanizing, equitable health system.

Relational Leadership Programming

We develop Relational Leadership capacity for interprofessional healthcare workers and trainees. Our Relational Leadership programs build leaders who re-humanize the health system, foster team spaces of psychological safety and belonging, and support colleagues to find common ground amidst unique differences, so that everyone on the health team can thrive.

Relational Community Organizing

We develop the Relational Leadership capacity of patients, community members, and healthcare workers in shared spaces. Our Relational Community Organizing programs elevate patients and community members as experts in social drivers of health, bring members together in safe containers to identify common ground, and partner in changing policies/practices that promote health and happiness for all.

We build the case for how relational practices impact healthcare team effectiveness, burnout, as well as patient and community outcomes. And we use innovative research methods that reflect those relational practices.
